The Utiel-Requena Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), located inland in the province of Valencia, is a small, almost circular plateau spanning over 1,800 km2, situated 70 km from the Mediterranean Sea and at an average altitude of 700 meters. The land and the Mediterranean climate, with continental influences, make Utiel-Requena wines special, especially the reds and rosés made with the Bobal grape variety. With an area of almost 40,000 hectares, it is the largest and most homogeneous vineyard in the Valencian Community.
