El Bierzo is a basin surrounded by mountains, creating a Mediterranean climate with a strong Atlantic influence. It is characterized by mild temperatures and an average rainfall of around 700mm. The mountainous barrier protects the vineyards from cold northern winds and excessive Atlantic rainfall, allowing for optimal and early grape ripening. On the slopes and mountainous areas, slate and quartzite soils predominate, which provide minerality and elegance. In the valleys, the soils are more fertile, composed of alluvial materials such as silts and clays.

| Tasting notes | Attractive, intense cherry-red color with violet hues at the rim, clean and bright. Good intensity, very expressive. Primary notes of fresh, crisp red fruit stand out, such as raspberry, wild cherry, and a touch of redcurrant. Subtle floral hints of violet appear, adding complexity. The entry on the palate is soft and enveloping, with a smooth and silky feel. The tannins are perfectly polished and ripe, integrated into the whole without harshness. The acidity is refreshing and balanced, giving it vibrancy and a persistent fruity finish. |
| Vinification | 100% Mencía It is an early budding, short-cycle variety that adapts perfectly to the Bierzo microclimate. Its bunches are small and compact, with medium-sized, ellipsoid-shaped berries and thin skins rich in aromatic compounds. |
