This grape is the flagship of the Rías Baixas D.O. and one of the most important and well-known in Galicia. Its small bunches and berries ripen early. It is a grape with high sugar and acidity levels, which gives wines great freshness. Traditionally grown on trellises, it is one of Galicia's quintessential symbols.

| Tasting notes | Garnet red with a tile-red rim and brown nuances. Displays sensations of ripe compote, toast, and light balsamic notes. Pleasant and delicate entry with well-integrated structure and tannins. Spices, vanilla, cinnamon, and licorice stand out. |
| Vinification | Complete destemming and partial crushing with a significant proportion of whole berries. They are left to macerate for about 6 to 8 hours, then the grapes are pressed and the must is left to decant for 24 hours, before being racked and fermented at 15-18ºC, using selected yeasts. |
